Ava is here, our story continues

Ava Pearl Raulie is here. 6/13/11. 7lbs 4oz, coincidentally the exact same weight as Luke was when he was born. ; Ava is a name, surprisingly, that Jenn and I both agreed on. The name "Pearl" came from Mark's (jenn's dad) mother.

It seemed like we were in the express lane this time at the hospital, though we still felt like rookies for the first time. Everything went much smoother for jenn with some early contractions that were quickly relieved by that epidural. We arrived at the hospital after jenn "thought" her water broke... I still have no idea how you do not know this happens!!! The hospital was slammed with incoming baby deliveries, must have been a snow storm in the south 9 months ago:) We were blessed with great nurses, our good doctor and a empathetic staff on hand our entire stay.

Around 4:05pm Doc Power's came in after having another delivery. Jenn had just started pushing and I could tell this was happening faster than last time with Luke. At 4:34pm Ava was here. Doc Power's was almost speechless as he showed us the knot in her ambilical cord. It was a loose not, so there is no worry, but he said she is 1 in a million because of this anomoly. We were all very blessed.

Thank you all for the prayers, cards, gifts, flowers and such. By now i'm sure you've seen some photos, so i apologize for the delay in updating our blog. I'm sure jenn will post more photos soon.

Luke's first visit to the Dentist! He did extremely well. He jumped up in the chair, Mrs. Sandy showed him all the tools she would use, and then she brushed, flossed, and counted all 20 of his teeth while he watched mickey mouse clubhouse on the ceiling tv! He had no cavities and recieved a new blue light up toothbrush and a yellow bouncy ball for his job well done. So proud of my little man.
