Wiregrass AKC Thomasville, GA

We spent this past weekend handling Zoi in her debut AKC Master Series Hunt Test near Meigs, GA, just outside of Thomasville. Seasonably cool weather, but very wet and windy on Saturday. 1st two series went very well for her. Sunday morning met us with frosty grass and 29 degrees!

We were near the tail end of the final series Sunday and it had warmed up siginificantly by that point. Zoi marked well and I handled her sufficiently, but not great. She ended up passing all 3 series this weekend. To attain her MH title she has to pass 6 tests, so only 5 more to go!

Jenn and Luke were troopers. They spent the majority of the time inside the truck watching 'Happy Feet' and 'Horton', but did get out and about some when the sun started shining.

Went down to the Lighting of the Christmas tree for some holiday festivities. The boys had a blast meeting all the PBS station cartoon characters and seeing Santa and Mrs. Claus! We ended the day with dinner at Ted Montana's Grill to celebrate Jenn's early birthday. Fun day!

Tricks and Treats

It wasn't all ghost's N gobblin's in FL this Halloween. They are just too cute to mold into scary little beings this year, so the mom's put their creative minds to work. We, at the Raulie household, are now 1 dog short, so Luke decided to fill the role as he was the 'pick of the litter' or maybe 'the pokey little puppy'. Baron, on the other hand, took his curly locks and charm, plus his Ray-Bans and white shirt and pulled off some Risky Business as he tried his luck as Tom Cruise. The two champions in the night were the talk of the neighborhood as they made their rounds through the local costume filled streets. Both boys did great as they dragged their buckets to each door and politely & with some shyness asked for their treats. Then they hurriedly came back to their wagon of relief and off to the next treat. By the time we ended back at Grandma/pa Schleifs they were ready to un-costume and try a little sweet candy!

It was pretty hot and muggy through the evening but cooler weather is finding its way south finally....finally.

Traveling to the SC Low-Country!

Highly anticipated was the October arrival of my parents from Iowa. We joined them for a few days in Charleston, SC and also took a few more days to relax at our home in FL. We packed as many tours, meals and sights that one could imagine in 2.5 days in Charleston. We toured Boone Plantation and their pumpkin patch. We bought fresh shrimp right off of the shrimp boats (mom saw a real dolphin there). We lodged right in the main market area of historic Charleston at the Double Tree Inn & Suites. Spoiled yes, but that's what traveling for a living and free hotel points gets a guy! Talk about travel well spent. We toured the entire town from the Citadel Academy to The Battery, Rainbow Row and the Plantations. Poor weather did not waiver our adventures in Charleston, and our Trolley Tour guide happened to have a funny accent, yeah she was from WI! One item we were not short on was good food. Whether it was the Irish Pub, 'Tommy Condon's', that mom couldn't get the name right or Hank's and Luke's spaghetti, we ate fine!

Once back home our luck turned sour as most of us were overcome with some Flu or Cold-ish type symptoms. NOT GOOD! While I traveled for work they all headed to the beach to catch some rays before heading back to the cooler climate in Iowa.

Grandma and Grandpa Raulie got some really good quality face time with Luke. We use 'skype' a lot to keep Luke in touch with them since we're so far away. He seems to really recognize them now even more and realizes that Grandma/pa Raulie are the ones in the laptop talking to him.
