Life's a Beach!
Happy Anniversary it twas this day. 2 years now of course on March 9th. I had to be on the road that Monday, so Jenn and I celebrated earlier during the weekend, but she was disappointed she didn't get a card or something, well, I couldnt send flowers on a Sunday so of course they were to be delivered on the day Jenn said she would be home, BUT Jenn unexpectedly went to the beach with the boys, Angie and Robbie. Oh well, life's a beach.
It is hard to believe that Luke really enjoyed the beach this day. I'm sure he would have preferred a non-salty environment like his father. Again, life's a beach and we are teaching that early in this little man's life:) Jenn said he had his moments of glory and yet managed a few tears after being doused with sand and sea water by cousin Baron. I'm sure Luke would prefer a snowsuit and a red glyder sled over this hot sand a salty water.
Nooooooodles

Luke is now attempting to add to his palate an array of new foods, textures and tastes. One of his favorites is noodles. Not sure if it is just fun to play with it or what, but it does allow us to have a few minutes of our own eating dinner for once.
Cheerios, crackers and sliced cheese top the charts of his favorites so far. Well, besides his father's famed 'no recipe' banana bread.

Ah yes.....puppies
Its been one week now since we began puppy watch 2009! Last Monday 2-16-09 at 10:30a.m. Zoi whelped 8 little puppies in 2 hour periods throughout the day and finally ending around 10:15p.m. that night, wow 12hrs. Of the 8 whelped, 7 are healthy and lively while one was still-born and did not make it;( We have 3 yellow, 3 black and a chocolate female. Only two males out of the entire group as well. As of this weekend we are doing very well with having most of them spoken for. Only the two males (yel/blk) remain avaialable.
They are growing very very fast from 12-14oz. birth weights to 28-29oz. in just 6 days. Wow! The first 48hrs was critical that we monitor their feeding, warmth and motherly care. We report still that all is well and Zoi is an outstanding mother though Jenn believes she is ready to get back out training after watching Holly leave each morning to run in a local hunt test this weekend. Within the next 10 days the puppy's eyes and ears will open and they will really begin to find their footing in the whelping box. Its been a week of scattered sleep at night while keeping an eye on Luke and the other on our grand-pups. I'm not sure the nights of the next 7 weeks will be any more full of sleep.
So far this has been a very neat/cool/awesome experience. We'll find out through the next 7 weeks if it is really as neat/cool/awesome as we first believed.
Keep checking in on us FL-Raulie's from time to time as Luke continue's to develop into the 'lil man Jenn so names him. He will be 10 months old this coming week.
